Resolved Question: I'm unemployed. What can I do about my traffic tickets?

A few months ago, I had expired registration, and was given 2 fix-it tickets a couple months apart. I neglected to go to court on the date stated, therefore was slapped with 2 civil assessments and fees up the arse! I went to court for each ticket. The first court was able to cut the fees and half and make payment arrangements with me, however, the 2nd court (Whittier, CA) would not be able to make payment arrangements and is giving me only 90 days to pay over $500! However, I asked for community service, since I am unemployed- so they gave me 54 hours and the fee was reduced to about $150. This is still pretty ridiculous, because I am a single mother and cannot afford to find babysitting for my son while doing community service. Is there any way out of this?? Please help!...
